Turmec Secures £15 Million Glasgow MRF Contract
Turmec is proud to announce our latest contract win, a £15 million project with Glasgow City Council to design and build a cutting-edge Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at Easter Queenslie. Set to process up to 50,000 tonnes of recyclable household waste annually, the facility will feature advanced automation, including AI-driven optical sorters and robotic technology. Backed by £17 million in funding from the Scottish Government’s Recycling Improvement Fund, this project will significantly reduce emissions and support Glasgow’s sustainability goals. Completion is expected in early 2027.

Turmec Secures $6.2 Million Contract in New Zealand
Turmec has been awarded the contract to deliver a state-of-the-art recycling facility in Dunedin, New Zealand, a major milestone in our global mission to engineer a world without landfill.
This new Green Island Recycling Facility will set a benchmark for sustainable infrastructure in the Southern Hemisphere, with advanced sorting tech and automation.
Turmec at the Powerday Engineering Futures Event
At Turmec, we believe in building more than recycling solutions, we’re helping build the future. That’s why we were proud to support Powerday’s Engineering Futures event at Old Oak Sidings, where T-Level Engineering students from Stanmore College got hands on insights into the world of waste recovery.
Turmec’s Gavin Dunne joined industry workshops, showcasing how automation, innovation, and sustainability come together in real-world recycling solutions. It’s ESG in action, and a powerful reminder that a greener future starts with the next generation.Â
