The new facility will increase the intake capacity at J.O’D Group’s Waste Transfer site on Nobel Road and has been designed to deliver a processing capacity of 70 TPH
The facility will receive mixed construction waste into a reception area from where it is loaded into an independent feeder system then transferred by conveyor for processing. The new plant will increase processing efficiency and profitability at the site, reduce costs, increase recovery of high-value materials from mixed waste and divert waste from landfill.
Established in 1987 and serving the building and construction sector, J.O’D Group is one of the foremost providers of skip hire, demolition, haulage, aggregate sales and plant hire in the London region from its licensed Pegamoid waste transfer facility on Noble Road, Edmonton, North London. Commenting, (Gerry Vines – Plant Manager) of the JO’D Group, said: “We needed to replace our existing MRF to increase our capacity and improve the quality of the recycled materials, wood, plastics, aggregates Etc, turning waste into a resource rather than just waste! Because of the capital investment required and the ever changing demands on waste industry we had to go out and do a lot of research into what suited us now and in the future.
Turmec offered the best solution to our needs with a mixture of the latest technology and long proven equipment to reduce labour and increase production.
I feel confident for the future that the investment “J.O D” has made will give our customers the confidence that their waste is being processed sustainably to meet all the environmental requirements ahead
Welcoming the commissioning of the new facility at J.O’D Group’s Pegamoid site, Joe Coffey – Business Development at Turmec, said;
“The delivery of the project is the result of a seamless collaboration of the Turmec and JO’D project teams in the design and development of the final plant and system. It is gratifying to see the plant come to life and reach its full operational performance to produce 70 tons per hour, recovering high-value materials from mixed waste and cutting waste going to landfill.”
