Over the past 30 years I have garnered a broad range of operational, financial and M&A experience in a variety of roles including Business Owner, CFO & CEO. My career spans a number of industry sectors such as Financial Services, Telecoms, Investment Banking and more recently over 20 years in Environmental Services. I have lived, worked and operated in Ireland, UK and South Africa. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. I’m really excited to have joined Turmec, an Award winning engineering company, which offers valuable solutions across industry, but with a special focus on the Environmental Services sector. I am looking forward to leading the team through its next evolution with our innovative designs and creative solutions that offer our clients the best opportunity for value creation from the waste streams they collect and process.

I am delighted to say that I have being a part of the Turmec team since 2002, beginning my journey as a Design Engineer before progressing through the projects office and ultimately assuming the role of Technical Director. Now, as Chief Operations Officer, I am bringing over 23 years of invaluable experience in the recycling and engineering industries of which 17 of these have being dedicated to Turmec.
With a lifelong passion for engineering, I pursued a degree in Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering at Athlone Institute of Technology. My career has spanned a wide range of roles and responsibilities, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the engineering & recycling sector. I take pride in my drive, energy, and innovative thinking, and I am excited to lead Team Turmec into a bright and successful future.
With a career that spans 25 years across the quarrying, mining, building, and recycling industries. I bring extensive expertise in the design, maintenance and optimization of heavy-duty plant equipment.
I joined Turmec in 2008 as Purchasing Manager and progressed through the ranks to my current role as AfterSales Director, shareholder, and board member. This journey has provided me with a deep understanding of business operations, engineering techniques and hands on leadership within the industry.

I am a degree qualified engineer with 10 years’ experience in the design of heavy duty plant equipment for both the recycling and the aggregate industry.
The combination of my design and practical experience are a great combination to allow me to lead the engineering team in Turmec; and as the Engineering Manager, I can safely say we have a great team here, who constantly drive to improve the quality and the delivery of our plants.
The Engineering department in Turmec is responsible for bringing concept plant designs into reality on customer’s sites; this involves every area of design from the initial plant layout through to the design of bespoke equipment based on customer’s specific requirements and finishing with detailing the installation of the plant.
I spend a lot of time on customer sites either working on upcoming projects or reviewing plant designs ahead of plant installations, and if I am in the office I am usually reviewing the progress on current projects, scheduling upcoming projects or working on streamlining the design process to help improve our project delivery.
What are the values that drive you?
I have a strong drive to constantly develop both our product offerings and also our design process so that we can continue to deliver a best-in-class product but to also remain as flexible as possible to quickly react to changes in customers’ requirements.
I started in Turmec in 2012, working on 2D plant layouts, tenders and proposals for clients. Over the course of 18 months, I got more involved with Project management, working in projects from inception to completion.
I continued as Sales/Project manager for another 2 years, gaining a vast amount of experience, from overseeing 2D designs being developed into detailed 3D models and how the plants are installed and commissioned, to understanding the flow of material through the recycling process, being involved in projects handling all waste types C&D, C&I, DMR, Glass, Ash, Rubber, etc.
I have a degree in building services engineering, a masters in Energy Management and steering into Technical Sales Management made sense, so I currently review and oversee all incoming RFQ/Tenders, working with the team to ensure our proposals are meeting the clients’ needs.
What are the values that drive you?
I have a vast experience within the Recycling and general engineering Industry; I’m part of the Turmec team since 2001, working my way up from the manufacturing floor before getting involved with site installation, and then moving into my present role including site and Project Management.
Having worked alongside design and being part of the manufacturing and site installation team for so many years has given me the knowledge for the role I am in. I have been involved with the delivery of recycling equipment to cover a variety of different waste streams from C+I, C+D, MSW, DMR etc. and I also deal with our core suppliers and the different components for each plant.
I organise numerous projects at one time, working as part of a team to deliver all projects safely, within the agreed timeframe and budget, as well as supporting clients through mechanical backup both on and off-site, with breakdown assistance, and I am also heavily involved with the daily decision regarding our EH+S Policies.
I have good interpersonal skills to deal with constant issues arising across all departments, the ability to deal with a range of different applications within Turmec, and my ultimate goal is to work smarter to achieve the maximum results for our clients and for the business.

I started my career with Turmec in 2009, having joined on a 6 month contract covering the financial accountant and I can gladly say I have been here ever since. My career to date spans over 19+ years, having spent many of those years working in finance & HR functions. My experience has been gained in many industries, working within insurance, hospitality, charitable and engineering sectors.
I now hold the role of HR Manager for the Turmec Group developing the HR department within the group, whilst also being secretary to the board and part of our internal ESG team focusing on our sustainability management process.
I am an adaptable, highly motivated HR professional with a Professional Diploma in HR Management from UCD Professional Academy in addition to having gained a Bachelor of Business Accounting & Finance, from IT Tallaght.
Each day at Turmec for me is different, there is always a new challenge or task which keeps my role exciting. I work closely with the CEO and management team, being responsible for the HR functions within the company.
My focus is always on providing the highest standard with a strong work ethic and a proven track record of working successfully in a fast-paced environment.
A key strength is communication; building strong relationships with people to deliver the best results, with strong interpersonal and organisation skills, whilst also being a patient emphatic person.

My experience spans over 20 years from the Energy Industry to the Hospitality Industry utilizing all aspects of Marketing –  Above the Line (ABL) activities, print media and Below the Line (BTL) Brand Management, product and service promotional activity, sponsorship events, brochures, direct marketing and Through the Line (TTL) digital marketing and UX.
I am excited to join Turmec as they design, plan and build systems that help customers recover more high quality material from recycled waste more efficiently and ultimately leading the way in reducing waste diversion from landfills. I am also  part of our internal ESG team focusing on our sustainability management process.

I am proud to say that I’ve successfully progressed from a metal fabricator, coded welder, plant fitter through various positions of responsibility to Business Development Manager.
My career to date spans over 40 years, involving providing cost-effective engineering solutions to the recycling, quarrying and mining industries and I have excellent understanding and respect for the hands-on operations and techniques within engineering.
I have proven and renowned innovative/entrepreneurial ability in terms of product design and developing solutions to client problems, extensive understanding of the values of customer service and its impact on reputation and future growth.
I’ve travelled worldwide developing sales and markets for recycling/screening plants, and I am now focusing on innovative and advanced technologies that increase recycling targets and reduce the needs for landfills of all types of waste, as well as in developing new markets for recycling systems, services and manufacturing abilities offered by Turmec.
Before joining Turmec, I was the Global Head of People Data Privacy at Facebook. Prior to this I worked across multiple compliance functions within Fortune 500 electronic and food manufacturing companies, including Global Director for EHS, covering 100 manufacturing facilities, across 30 countries, with 200,000 employees. I bring over 30 years of experience in the health and safety field, from being a hands-on safety officer to a Global EHS Director. I pride myself in having a broad based business understanding and have also worked in HR, Industrial relations and manufacturing operations which gives me a unique understanding of business challenges to be overcome while ensuring  compliance . All in all I have multiple qualifications including Business, HR, H&S and IR & Data Protection

I am working for Turmec over 23 years and in this period, I have been a Supervisor across Production departments which has allowed me to gain valuable experience and understanding of the challenges within the operations, adding a Green belt in Lean manufacture to support continuous improvement for the organization.
I moved into production planning & scheduling, where I review all data from the design office and issue it to internal & external manufacturing teams.
Over the years I have also supported Turmec in its growth in the following
ISO EN1090 Structures steel, ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 certifications
I am also supporting the internal ESG in our sustainability management process.
My current role is production Scheduling and Facilities Manager, where I look after subcontractors’ day to day and issuing parts internal to the production Team.

I am an experienced buyer with 15+ years multi market buying experience. My previous roles have provided me with experience in global sourcing and supply chain management, and purchasing for the Irish, European and Australian markets.
My main focus is always to provide the most suitable and cost effective customer centred option.
At Turmec I manage the order process for all material required to support daily production needs along with unique project-specific material requirements. A typical day for me is split between order placement, assessment and planning for future project needs, addressing supply constraints, and I am a representative on the Turmec CSER steering group
